motivation....

i decided yesterday i'm going to run my first 5k. i saw a billboard for the mayor's cup 5k in april, and was like, i can totally do this. i used to run every day. i loved it. so, i thought, if i register, i'll have some motivation to get off the couch and do this. my problem is going to be my competitiveness. i'm going to have to get it in my mind that this is my first race, i don't have to do good, just finish it. that's my plan. just finish it. then, if i enjoy it, maybe i've found something that will give me motivation to start running again. i asked david if he would do it with me, and the answer was no real quick. haha. hopefully, he'll be my cheerleader though.

congrats to my college suitemate....

i got a message on facebook this morning that my old suitemate is gonna have a baby in august. yay! so happy for her. i just wish we lived closer to each other. she's one of my favorite people on the planet.

i have felt completely yuck this week. not really bad, just not wanting to do anything, get out of bed and/or the couch, etc. i did wake up with the stomach ache i went to bed with and david wants chinese buffett today?! guess my body is giving me fore warning not to gorge itself out.

happy birthday finney!

well, i guess it's really a happy anniversary. we got our sweet finney a year ago today. she's my only girl in a house of boys. i tried to take a picture of her, but it's hard to get a picture of a fish.

on a sadder note, david got a rejection letter from our alma mater for his advisor/teacher's, who is retiring, position. we had our hopes up that since he knew everyone, they'd at least give him a chance. but, it's not in our hands. i know God has a plan for us, and that just wasn't it. and i'm thankful for that. i would love to be closer to home, but i deep down did not want to move back to clinton or the jackson area. maybe faulkner state in bay minette will have an opening. or pensacola junior college, or anything in mobile. hello gulf shores! hehe...

taco casa drive thru woes....

so i just made the mistake of going to taco casa at 10 til 1. i think everybody goes to taco casa at 10 til 1. so i sat in the drive thru, which i didn't mind cause i really wanted frijoles, and this car in front of me stops suddenly and i bump the bumper. i didn't even think i did, i thought i bumped the curb. i shouldn't even say bump, more of a tap. you know how that happens in a drive thru. so the woman starts eyeing me down and making a big deal of leaning out the window to look back at her bumper. which, i'm not even touching from what i can tell. when she moved up, i say i didn't do a thing to it, not even a speck of my lovely bronze paint on her brand new ford edge, which i think is the ugliest vehicle ford has every produced... i have a mustang, that's different, it's an american classic. haha. anyways, so she gets her food and pulls off and makes another big deal of getting out of her car and checking her bumper and eyeing me down again... geeze... people are weird

monday blues....

i woke up this morning with an awful sore throat, jaw and teeth... only on the right side. weird huh? i guess i slept funny. so, i'm giving into the urge to go out for lunch and getting mcalister's cheddar potato soup. yum. david, if you read this, i have giftcard money to use.

i'm taking thursday and friday of this week off and going home. so i'll be in b'haven for a nice long weekend. don't think it'll be too nice, mama wants me to clean out my close. bleh. i hate cleaning out closets. plus 5 years of mess piling up in it is not going to be fun.

oh... forgot to say i found a recipe for homemade fabric softener. i made it but haven't tried it out yet. i'll post about it.

a little better....

i've taken absolutely no time to make this blog cute since i started it. well, tonight i decided to work on it a little. not much, but still better than the plain-ness it was. it'll be a work in progress.

i just enjoyed my most favorites saturday night pleasure. a long soak in avon sss night soak. some of the best stuff in the world. i think i'll challenge david to a mean game of mancala. of course he'll beat me. he always does.

oh computer woes....

i haven't been able to post anything in a while cause i'm having major computer problems at work. our wireless at our apt is so unpredictable, i never know when i can use it. luckily, right now i can. here's our setup we got at ikea on new year's day. that was a fun trip. we left here at 7 that morning, went to ikea, couldn't make up our minds on what to get, then went to zesto's and buford to get yummy asian candy and came home. all by 4:00 that afternoon. pretty productive new year's. i hadn't pulled all the plastic off the tv when i took it. plus the shelves are little bare still. it's a work in progress.

and by the way, i put the whole thing together... oh yeah....
