well, here i am....

i haven't been much of a blogger lately. i just haven't felt like it. hopefully things will start looking up in the job market. good thing is the community college down the road from us has an opening in d's area. that would be great. i wasn't expecting to stay here again, but God's knows what's best for us and the more i think about it, the more i think that is best for us. so pray for us, pray that God's will is revealed to us and we are accepting of it no matter what it is. that's what i have a hard time with accepting things.

on another note, strat at a poisonous plant yesterday and got to visit the doctor. luckily he threw it up and was ok after that.

You Can Be Everything God Wants You To Be Review

Max Lucado just has an amazing way with words. I love how his books feel like they are speaking directly to you. You Can Be Everything God Wants You To Be is no different. This is such an easy and encouraging read. This little book truly makes you feel unique and created for a special purpose. It is great for anyone who feels like they do not know where they are going with their life, stuck in a rut, or just need some encouragement that God made them for a reason. God made only one you for a unique purpose despite what the world may be telling you. This is a fantastic gift book and will warm the heart of anyone who reads it.

tell me why...

i don't like mondays...

that's a good song. so as much as i hate a monday, i'm grateful for a new week. the last few weeks have just stunk. i know things could be so much worse, but when there's no hope in site, it's hard to see it that way. last monday, david found out someone else got a job he and i were both really hoping for at least getting an interview. it wouldn't have been too terribly far away, and i just knew he was going to get to interview for it. shows what i know. at least the guy over there was nice enough to let him know so we can move on to the next. well, not too many "next" anymore. the hiring season is almost over for next school year. i guess things have just really worked out for him to finish at a bad time. the economy stinks and of course, jobs in fine arts education are scarce. deep down i know everything will work out how it's supposed to, but i thought by now it would have. unfortunately, i've become miss negativity lately. i'm sure everyone just loves being around me.

here's hoping this week will bring better things. maybe....

smooth operator....

with all the things going on lately, i have forgotten to post how much i love got2be's smooth operator line. i got some samples and coupons by being a member of bzzagent. the lustre lotion is great. especially in this southern summer humidity. i bought the whole line of products last week. it makes your hair so smooth and soft. and smells really good too. it's great. i still have some samples and coupons if anyone wants one.

sorry....

sorry for my extremely bad attitude in my previous post. it's been a tough day. i just have to trust that there is a plan for us and better than what we can plan on our own. it's just hard to see that when so many things are going down the drain right now. but, i need to keep faith that everything will work out how it's supposed to. i'm sad, but this too shall pass....

back to square one...

so life is hard right now. no way around it, it's just tough. david's fixing to start looking for a church job cause nothing has worked out. i just can't understand. you put so much time and effort into something and it gets you no where. i so unbelievably mad right now, i just can't imagine how he feels. he's the one who's put 12 years of his life into something not paying off. it stinks. flat out stinks. i'm just so mad.

saturday in the park...

i'm so glad the weekend is here. i always hate wishing my life away, but i neeed some lazy time this weekend. i haven't even been lazy yet. i got up and started cleaning and made breakfast. david's still asleep. that's ok, i can get more down with him upstairs. i'm excited today cause abc family is showing all three back to the futures. i don't know why, i have the dvds and can watch them anytime. well, i guess i don't really have much excitement to report or ramble about this morning. i think i might go get in the pool before it gets crowded...

things...

they've just been pretty crummy. i know it could be much much worse, i sometimes get so caught up in "poor poor pitiful me" business, i forget how much i have to be thankful for.

our apartment office called us today asking about our lease. yikes. we have no clue. if we were moving out, we were supposed to let them know by yesterday, but david's heard nothing, NOTHING, from anywhere. so it's like what do we do? i want to stay here if we're going to be here another year, but is a job going to work out? so many questions and no answers. that's where faith comes in. so hard to keep it sometimes. more like all the time here lately.

but i did get a really good deal today at cvs. that makes me happy. they had dove deoderant on sale for $2.50. when you bought $10 worth, you got $5 back in extra bucks. so i got 6 had a coupon for $2 off each. paid $3 plus $1.36 tax and got $5 back. not too often you can make money shopping :)

funny story....

i should have posted this last week, but never got around to it. so, i'm a huge dave ramsey fan. have the books, listen to the show just about everyday, going thru his baby steps, etc. my david gets sick of it, but i know he'll appreciate one day :). all his sarcastic, what does dave say, it's not in the budget!, blah blah blah. but he did have to laugh at this.

when we were at the beach last week, i bought his total money makeover workbook at the outlet mall, how fitting, to go along with my well used copy of the total money makeover. i walked into the coach store (i'm a total sucker for coach purses) and of course they were having a big memorial day sale. so, i found this super cute purse for only $75! yay! i was getting in line and my brain started, you really should use this $75 on paying off the cc's, it's not in the budget, etc. so i put it back, walked out and started feeling guilty. i was thinking, hey, i work hard for my money, i deserve a new purse. then i looked down and remembered what i was carrying. dave must have been sending me messages. i just smiled and felt proud of myself. haha!

welcome friday....

this has been a mentally exhausting week. i'm grateful to have got to go somewhere for memorial day, but it's tough to get back into a routine after being gone. then tuesday, my poor finney got so sick. i thought i was going to lose her. she's my only girl. even if she is a fish, she's still special. we're still just waiting on jobs. haven't heard anything from anywhere. i hope something will happen soon. it's a good lesson in patience and faith. it's a tough one, but i'll be glad i've gone through this eventually :)

Mystically Wired Review

As my first book to review from Booksneeze, I chose Mystically Wired, Exploring New Realms in Prayer by Ken Wilson. I chose it because I want and need to focus more on my prayer life. The book is basically two sections. The first being very science based and research oriented. The second giving guidance and suggestions to put into practice in your prayer life.

I found the first section to be quite confusing. I am not a very science-oriented thinker, so some chapters were hard to comprehend. The second section was much better with the advice on developing your prayer life. I particularly enjoyed the chapter on worry, as this is something I deal with on a daily basis. The appendix is nice with all his suggestions outlined. Unfortunately for me, the book was challenging to read with some much science. I found it to be somewhat wordy, at times, to get to a simple point. It was almost as if you needed a summary of each chapter to understand what you just read. That’s probably why I appreciate the appendix so much. I will probably go back and re-read the second part and definitely put some of the suggestions offered into practice.

the real world....

back from the beach. back to reality. that sounds like that song... back to life, back to reality... anyways, yeah, i'd rather still be at the beach. now i gotta get back into the routine of work, meetings, trying to help david find a job, etc. ugh. the stresses of everyday. i must say, wives, please appreciate your husbands that have jobs. even if it's a crappy job, it's a job. at least he's not a professional student, not that there's anything wrong with that. he's worked hard for where he's at and what he'll have accomplished once it's all done. it's just been a long exhausting road getting there. hopefully we'll reach the end of it soon. hopefully.
