poor finney....

my beautiful calico fantail goldfish has been suffering from this persistent case of fin rot over the last two months. to be honest, i'm not even sure if it is fin rot. the only symptom she has is jagged fins. no redness, black/white edges, etc. she's got two dips, i'd call them, on her dorsal fin, two on one ventral fin, and three on the other. they just started one day and slowly got worse. good news is they've been pretty stable for the last month, month and a half. bad news is there's been no visible healing. one day it looks a little better, another, it looks a little worse, but for the most part stable. i tried melafix at the first sign of it, but that didn't really do anything. so, i've been trying to keep the tank as clean as i can, still no progress. i started a salt treatment yesterday, which will hopefully work. i'm upping the salinity today a little since she's not acting stressed from it so far. just needed to rant a little bit, i love this little fish and i want her to grow her long pretty fins back.

being lazy with my posts....

i haven't posted in a long time. our trip to gatlinburg was good. i'd never been there before. it was nice, but i'm definitely a beach person. school is back in session, which hopefully means jobs will start opening up for fall 2010. with this *hopefully* being the last year, we'll have to do something. i say *hopefully* because i thought last year was the last one. but, it's been a growing process for me. i know all of this will work out in God's timing and according to His will. i just gotta trust that.

hello kitty birthday...

my birthday is not until monday, but david had me this cake when i got home yesterday from work

we went to bham and ate johnny rockets... one of the few places i can get a good veggie burger. then i picked out my bday presents at the super oriental market, that has an amazing hello kitty selection. and for some reason i can't get the pic to upload... oh well, i'll try again later

i'm so glad this is a short week, cause it's really seeming long right now. i know everyone gets sick of stuff now and then, but some things are really getting on my last nerve. i'm only one girl. i'm not a miracle worker, i'm not a genius in all these areas people expect me to be. it just gets really frustrating sometimes. thank goodness i'm going home this weekend and will be away from tuscaloosa. not to say i'm "all that", but sometimes i wonder what some people are going to do when i'm gone. not gone gone, just gone away. haha.. if that makes any sense. i have to be vague.

bleh....

i just ate a huge lunch and i feel like i am going to explode! and i have a really tedious thing to do this afternoon. it's gonna be hard to stay awake. that's why i'm typing right now... taking a break to wake myself up a little. i hope the afternoon goes by fast....

ah, the pleasure of saving....

i just saved $168.50 at old navy. how awesome is that. not only were all the men's clothes 1/2 off, but i scored the mega coupon this morning at oldnavyweekly.com. the $75 off a $100 purchase coupon. whoo hoo! it was gone within minutes. it said it would update last night but never did. i was up on and off all through the night checking. lo and behold, it updated at 7:00 this morning and i was one of the few to get it. yeah! david got an almost entire summer wardrobe. i got a couple of shirts, but i really didn't need any clothes or shoes. yeah still!
