welcome friday....

this has been a mentally exhausting week. i'm grateful to have got to go somewhere for memorial day, but it's tough to get back into a routine after being gone. then tuesday, my poor finney got so sick. i thought i was going to lose her. she's my only girl. even if she is a fish, she's still special. we're still just waiting on jobs. haven't heard anything from anywhere. i hope something will happen soon. it's a good lesson in patience and faith. it's a tough one, but i'll be glad i've gone through this eventually :)

Mystically Wired Review

As my first book to review from Booksneeze, I chose Mystically Wired, Exploring New Realms in Prayer by Ken Wilson. I chose it because I want and need to focus more on my prayer life. The book is basically two sections. The first being very science based and research oriented. The second giving guidance and suggestions to put into practice in your prayer life.

I found the first section to be quite confusing. I am not a very science-oriented thinker, so some chapters were hard to comprehend. The second section was much better with the advice on developing your prayer life. I particularly enjoyed the chapter on worry, as this is something I deal with on a daily basis. The appendix is nice with all his suggestions outlined. Unfortunately for me, the book was challenging to read with some much science. I found it to be somewhat wordy, at times, to get to a simple point. It was almost as if you needed a summary of each chapter to understand what you just read. That’s probably why I appreciate the appendix so much. I will probably go back and re-read the second part and definitely put some of the suggestions offered into practice.

back from the beach. back to reality. that sounds like that song... back to life, back to reality... anyways, yeah, i'd rather still be at the beach. now i gotta get back into the routine of work, meetings, trying to help david find a job, etc. ugh. the stresses of everyday. i must say, wives, please appreciate your husbands that have jobs. even if it's a crappy job, it's a job. at least he's not a professional student, not that there's anything wrong with that. he's worked hard for where he's at and what he'll have accomplished once it's all done. it's just been a long exhausting road getting there. hopefully we'll reach the end of it soon. hopefully.

my publix bargains this week...

unfortunately, it wasn't as good this week as last week. hard to beat two right guard deoderants for .80, including tax.

so this week, i got two morningstar farms ckn nuggets (one of my fav. meatless meals), each 1.95 (bogo sale) plus a 1.00 off coupon. making them 1.45 each. and i got two sets of bic soleil razors, each 2.74 (bogo sale also) plus a 2-2.00 off coupons. making them .74 each.

total price was 5.22 with tax, total savings 14.96.

i think i'm done....

with american idol. it's just not much to me anymore. i know lee will win tonight, not saying he's not good. but i think crystal is better. she's worked harder for it, she's got a better voice, and she's just a flat out cool girl. hopefully, it'll be just like last year when adam lambert lost, but is obviously the more successful one now. at least i have an almost dr. of music agreeing with me.

at least i still got survivor. speaking of survivor, i dreamed i was interviewed to be on it.

survey updates....

so in my free time, i do a lot of surveys. it's fun for me. and i like to think someone cares about my opinion. i've been doing them regularly for about a month now. here's an update on my earnings:

opinion outpost, which is my favorite so far - $43.90 (since about 4/15). i've cashed out with them twice, so i've got $31.50 on it's way.

toluna - $32.69 (since 5/2). it's harder to work up to cashing out with these guys, but i get a lot of surveys from them and had a $25 one a couple weeks ago.

my plan is to start using these for a disney fund, following my favorite blog, couponing to disney. d and me really want to go next year cause it'll be the magic kingdom's 40th anniversary. and well, we just love disney world and would go any time we could.

mixtape!!!!

yay! i'm going to do a really easy one today. slow day at work so far, so the morning's dragging. since i didn't get to go to jazz fest this year, :( , i'm doing a playlist in honor of one of my favorite bands that frequents jazz fest, buckwheat zydeco!

well, as i got to searching, this one isn't gonna pan out as planned. only four buckwheat zydeco songs on playlist, and one doesn't work! what's wrong with people, they are great! oh, well, i'll add irma thomas, the soul queen of new orleans in there. love her!!
