crafty little devil....

so last year i couldn't find my mama a corsage anywhere for mother's day. i guess this is kinda falling out of fashion. but this is the south and by goodness them ladies at my church are gonna have their corsages on mother's day. i felt really bad, i didn't want my mama to not have one cause she's the bestest mama in the whole world, so i took care of this problem early this year. i made her a lovely little corsage/brooch to wear. i got the instructions from this site. i'll have to post a pic of mine later. it's not as spiffy looking at this one, but hey, i'm not the professional crafter. i'll probably end up making some for my aunties too, shhh, don't tell them. :)

a few extra bucks... always nice....

so i've recently as in the past two weeks starting joining online survey sites. i love taking surveys. like seriously love when i get surveys. weird i know. but i was reading the couponing to disney blog, which i love, and one way she makes extra is doing surveys. so, i'm like hey, i love surveys and do them all the time, why not make a little cash from it. my favorite so far is opinion outpost. i cashed out for my first check this morning. $10.50 in a week doing a few surveys is not too shabby. i would highly recommend joining. i've emailed ppl about it, but no one has yet. i've joined a few others, so we'll see how those go. i was really hoping to get in on an online focus group this week, but no luck yet. there's really a whole world of this stuff out there.

i did it...

i finished my first 5k this morning in the pouring down rain. it sprinkled early into it, but the bottom dropped out about a half mile to go. but i wasn't stopping. the cops started announcing seek shelter, but i could see the finish line. i didn't do as well as i had hoped. i think i finished at 36.38 min. i couldn't even see the time clock good cause my face was so wet. i was carrying about 15 extra pounds in soaking wet shoes, socks, and clothes. haha. i was drenched. but it was really fun. ppl couldn't even write their names on the cards they handed out at the end cause everything was so wet. i don't know how they placed ppl. my card said 163, so i don't know if that means i was the 163rd person or what. the awards ceremony was at 10, but i didn't stay. i would have liked to, but i was soaked and starting to get really cold. so we headed on home. i didn't want to get sick again after my throat infection a couple weeks ago. oh well, hopefully i didn't miss anything important. so, i think i'll find another one to do in a couple months. it was a lot of fun even in the rain.

mixtape time....

i've got an unusual collection of songs on this one. i put a few together for my jogs. let me make note that the last two songs i love and my daddy used to make fun of them when they came on the radio. haha! i'd probably do that to my child too if they liked something that bad. so the 5k is saturday. hopefully i'll make it. i call this one "run forrest, run!"

ideas....

so yesterday i had one of those days where i was like, what have i done with the past 27 years of my life, my life is going no where, i'm good for nothing, waaah, waaah, waaah, poor poor pitiful me. whatever. i had the evening to myself cause d was at school all night. i put in my favorite silverchair cd from jr. high and just thought. i thought, what am i passionate about. two things easily, animals and music. i'm a total music junkie and i can easily post stuff about music on my blog. one of my greatest pleasure in life has always been making mixtapes, old school i know, for people. so, i thought, make a mixtape (playlist) for your blog every week. that might be fun. i'll call it mixtape madness, insert evil laugh here. stupid i know, but hey, it makes me laugh. and isn't that what matters? haha. so in honor of my utter peed-offness yesterday, here's my first official mixtape madness. i call it peed-off, the musical.

misery....

yup, the past four days i have been in complete misery. a throat infection is not something anyone wants to have. i can promise that. you can't swollow you can't eat cause you can't swollow, you can't talk cause your throat's swollen. yeah, it stunk. but i feel much much better now. still super weak. and of course i would get that two weeks before the 5k. i've pretty much decided i'm going to have to walk this. oh well. should have known better.

you ever feel that way? like just whatever about everything. i do. i've been so down in the dumps the last few days. i hate feeling like this. this whole 5k thing that i thought i could do, yeah right. i was kidding myself thinking i could do this. i can walk it no problem-o, but i dont' want to walk it. i want to run it and prove to myself i can do this. of course, it doesn't help my body feels like it's shutting down on me. i need some protein shakes or something. at one time in my life, i was a really healthy person. not that i'm unhealthy now, just not taking as good of care of myself as i should. well, it's almost 5 and time to go home. maybe i'll feel better after i see crystal bowersox on ai tonight. she's awesome. i heart her. even david loves her too. and he hates idol.
